Nordic Kayaks K1 39

Performance to the next level

Nordic Kayaks K1 Series – Born from the same hull DNA as our surfskis, the Nordic Kayaks K1 series brings ocean-bred speed and precision to flatwater racing. Every model is shaped for one purpose: to make fast feel effortless.

Our ultra-light prepreg carbon construction keeps weight low and rigidity high — so every stroke translates directly into forward motion. Whether you’re sprinting, racing marathon, or chasing your personal best, there’s a K1 built for your weight, your style, and your ambition.

Developed from the proven hull geometry of the K1 40, the K1 39 elevates performance to the next level—delivering exceptional acceleration and uncompromising top-end speed for elite paddlers seeking maximum efficiency.
The updated cockpit, with higher sidewalls, provides a noticeably drier ride in challenging conditions. In the marathon versions (CLS and CX), a newly developed bulkhead behind the seat enables rapid and efficient drainage when lifting the kayak.
The result is a faster, sharper, and more responsive platform on the water. The K1 39 is optimized for paddlers up to 90 kg who aim to push their performance to its limits.

We offer two seat options to suit different paddling styles. The surfski seat provides full support around the seat cup, enhancing stability and control while still allowing effective rotation. The racing seat offers greater freedom of movement for paddlers who prefer a less restrictive feel. Both seat types are adjustable in four height positions, so you can fine-tune your balance, comfort, and performance.

The footrest system is available in two configurations: pedal steering or a traditional T-bar. Both use the same adjustment system and, together with the adjustable foot strap, provide a secure, stable platform and responsive steering.

Autoclave Prepreg Technology

All boats at NK are made with prepreg carbon in an autoclave. This is one of the most expensive and complex production processes and is not yet widespread in the kayak world.

Due to the homogeneous material distribution of prepregs and the high, precisely defined temperatures and pressures in the autoclave, the surfski and kayaks achieve extreme strength with low weight.

The individual layers form a very intensive connection, which ensures a very long service life and high reliability of the kayaks. The technology is otherwise used in space travel or Formula 1.

Model Comparison

„The enormous product diversity of Nordic Kayaks offers potential to develop myself further in sporting terms via the available NK models. All offered material qualities, especially the robust and lightest version "CarbonX", impress me during daily training on the Strelasund and the Baltic Sea.“
