Stay dry, stay fast: The bow of the new NK models is optimised so that far less water rushes towards the cockpit on a downwind run. Whatever still arrives and doesn’t run off to the side is stopped by the Carbon Hood with its integrated wave deflector before it reaches the footwell. Less water in the cockpit means your bailer can stay closed more often, and you stay faster. Add warm feet and full focus on the next wave. A real game-changer, especially in winter.

Then there’s the integrated watch mount. Instead of fiddling your smartwatch into the foot strap, it now sits right in front of you on the hood, easy to read. Speed, stroke rate and heart rate are always in view, and the watch is easy to operate on the move.

Like our boats, the hood is made from carbon using the autoclave prepreg process, which makes it extremely light. It attaches with four screws to the inserts in the cockpit. A safety strap under the hood also clips onto the cockpit bungees, so the hood can’t get lost.
